Ahead of the upcoming new school term, Brantano, who has partnered with road safety charity Brake, is launching its Walk to School campaign. Research by the shoe retailer has revealed that only a third of children and parents regularly walk to and from school every week while further research highlights that almost half* of UK primary school children are now driven to school, contributing to congestion, poor health and traffic danger. The campaign is encouraging children to pledge to walk to school more often, whilst raising awareness of road safety, health and the importance of correctly fitting shoes.
Pledge cards will be available in Brantano stores nationwide and for every pledge made, 10p will be donated to road safety charity Brake. Pictures of children with their pledge cards should be uploaded to Brantano’s Facebook or Twitter pages using the hashtag #WalkToSchool. Pictures can also be emailed to email@example.com. All valid entries will be entered into a prize draw for one person to win free school shoes for a year. For more information visit www.brantano.co.uk.
